Some Encounters Feel Like Coming Home

Some Encounters Feel Like Coming Home

Some days feel special before they have even begun.

Today was one of those days.

For weeks, I had been looking forward to seeing him again. Technically, he is one of my regular clients, but that description stopped fitting a long time ago. From the very beginning, there has been something between us that is difficult to put into words. A connection. A sense of familiarity. No matter how many months pass between our meetings, it always feels as though we simply pick up where we left off.

The location for our date made it even more special.

Hidden among endless green fields stood an old barn that had been transformed into a beautiful private spa. From the outside it looked simple and rustic, but inside it felt warm, inviting, and completely removed from the outside world. The moment you arrive, the noise of everyday life seems to disappear.

He had arrived before me and was already waiting inside.

As soon as I opened the door and stepped in, I heard his familiar voice.

"Hey dragon, you're here."

My heart immediately skipped a beat.

I walked straight over to him, wrapped my arms around him, and kissed him. Instantly, that familiar feeling returned. As if no time had passed since our last meeting.

Not long after, we found ourselves relaxing in the jacuzzi.

A glass of wine within reach, open countryside stretching out before us, and cows wandering so close by that it almost felt as if they were sharing the afternoon with us. The warm water, the fresh country air, and the peaceful surroundings created the perfect setting.

I curled up against him, resting my head on his chest while we looked out across the fields together. Every now and then we took a sip of wine, exchanged a few words, or simply enjoyed the silence. There was something incredibly comforting about being there together, surrounded by nothing but nature and tranquility.

The cows continued their slow walk through the meadow, completely unaware of us, while the warm water bubbled around us. It was one of those rare moments where everything felt exactly as it should be.

The hours slipped by without either of us noticing. We talked, laughed, shared memories, and enjoyed the simple pleasure of being together again. With him, things never feel forced. There is no pressure to fill every silence or create every moment. Everything unfolds naturally.

What happened afterwards will remain behind closed doors.

But trust me when I say it was magical.

Some moments are simply too special to describe in detail. Not because there aren't words for them, but because no story could ever truly capture how they felt.

As the afternoon slowly turned into evening, we moved out onto the terrace.

In front of us, the fields were bathed in the soft glow of the setting sun. The sky slowly transformed into shades of gold, orange, and pink while the day quietly came to an end. It was the kind of view that makes you pause for a moment and simply take it all in.

We sat side by side, watching the sun disappear beyond the horizon.

Every now and then I looked at him and thought about how remarkable it is that some people unexpectedly find a permanent place in your life.

Not through grand gestures.

But because every single time, they bring that familiar feeling that makes you smile the moment you see them.

At one point we looked at each other and laughed.

Because we were both thinking exactly the same thing.

Neither of us was ready for the day to end.

But every beautiful day eventually comes to a close.

When it was finally time to say goodbye, I wrapped my arms around him for one last long hug. The kind of hug where you hold on just a little longer because you know it will be a while before you see each other again.

Our next date won't be for another three months.

And yet, I already know that as the day gets closer, the excitement will start building all over again.

As I drove home, I couldn't stop smiling.

Some encounters stay with you long after they're over. Not because of a particular place or a specific moment, but because of the feeling they leave behind. The warmth, the connection, and the memories linger long after the day has ended.

This was one of those days.

A day filled with comfort, laughter, beautiful memories, and a connection that has only become more meaningful over the years.

I'm already looking forward to seeing him again.
